Confluence upgrade from 5.1.4 to 5.5.6 failed

Hi Team,

When tried to upgrade Confluence 5.1.4 to Confluence 5.5.6 resulted the below error.

2014-10-23 20:32:41,522 ERROR [localhost-startStop-1] [hibernate.tool.hbm2ddl.SchemaUpdate] execute Unsuccessful: alter table users add id numeric(19,0)
2014-10-23 20:32:41,522 ERROR [localhost-startStop-1] [hibernate.tool.hbm2ddl.SchemaUpdate] execute Column names in each table must be unique. Column name 'id' in table 'users' is specified more than once.
2014-10-23 20:32:41,522 ERROR [localhost-startStop-1] [hibernate.tool.hbm2ddl.SchemaUpdate] execute could not complete schema update
java.sql.SQLException: Column names in each table must be unique. Column name 'id' in table 'users' is specified more than once.
at net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.SQLDiagnostic.addDiagnostic(SQLDiagnostic.java:368)


Please find the attached log file for more info. Please find a solution for this ASAP

Hey Fahad,

A few questions smile:

  • Which database you are using?
  • Can you upload the complete <Confluence Home>\logs\atlassian.confluence.log?

Lastly just to let you know this is a forum so we can't premise you any ETA on a root cause/solution.
