We updated a legacy page to the new editor. All attachments were changed? to links (or were links before). Previously when you clicked on the links it previewed the pdf in confluence with option to download. The updated page now simply downloads the file when link is clicked and does not preview. When the files is added to the new page, by drag-drop, it displays the file as before when clicked. You also cannot insert or display existing attachments on the page through the insert macro.
What's happening? Has anyone experienced this?
@Rohan Bailey I started using Cloud after the new editor was added, so I never used the legacy editor. This article, posted on Monday, might provide some information and/or links to places where you might find the information you seek: https://community.atlassian.com/forums/Confluence-articles/The-Legacy-Editor-is-being-deprecated-in-Confluence-Cloud-Here-s/ba-p/3046832
Thanks @Barbara Szczesniak ,
We are aware of the deprecation and have started updating our pages. The post shared and comments have been informative.
Let me ask you, as someone who has not used legacy, how do you insert a pre-uploaded attachment to the page being edited?

@Rohan Bailey The only way I've found to do this is to insert the file again, which gives you a new version of the same file in the Attachments, even though it is actually the same exact thing. If you are aware of this, you plan to move the image on the page, instead of deleting it and inserting it again somewhere else.
This is really annoying, especially when you want to use the same image on multiple pages—I started on the Free plan, so this was also an issue for the file storage limit.
This is why I have voted for and followed this Jira ticket: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CLOUD-12503. This ticket was created in 2019, and someone from Atlassian put a note on it last November, but I'm not holding my breath waiting for the fix.
