please advise confluence won't start after upgrade.

Following your instructions I have run the installer to upgrade to version 6.15.2.  I ran the service.bat as instructed but can not run start the service in window.

I ran the startup.bat and got this error.   Please advise.

The JRE_HOME environment variable is not defined correctly.  this environment variable is needed to run this program.

Can you check your system whether JRE is installed or not. If installed check in the command prompt which version of Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment is there. If the output is showing something similar to this "build 1.8.0_201-b09" or some build version in 1.8 is fine.Then Confluence should work fine.

And also check in the environment variables if JRE_HOME is set or not. If not follow these instructions in the link to set it https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/setting-the-java_home-variable-in-windows-8895.html
