Is there a way to not allow customers to sort on the "built in" Request Type field in JSM?

Customers can sort by Request Type, but our organization has many request types, and only a few are related to customers. We have created a custom field called "Customer Request Types" and want customers to be able to sort by this field. I know how to add it to the table. However, built into JSM, "Request Type" isn't removable in the above portion from what I can find. I am wondering if someone can tell me if this can be changed? 2025-06-20_11h46_22.png

Hi @Sara Nicholson ,

If you are looking for a way to add more columns (incl. custom fields) to the request list and also enhance the filters, you will need a third party app. You can check our app Advanced Portal Reports.  You can use it to show your customers on the portal a table report with many details about their tickets from Jira: custom fields, labels, SLAs, etc. They can see, search, filter and export all their Jira Service Management tickets with a very simple UI.

Cheers,

Elitsa

Hi Sara,

Unfortunately there's not a way to remove that dropdown filter for now. May I ask why the different field for "Customer Request Types" was created instead of using the built-in one?
