How to have projects to be viewed only by specific group of users

Hello all.

My jira instance (Jira softwate, cloud) is going to be used by two teams. Each team will have their specific projects and I need than every team can only see their own projects and issues ( in their filters, searchs, etc), not the ones of other projects. How can I obtain it? Is that possible?

I would need a detailed explanation of how to solve that problem.

Yes this can be done.

Projects use a "permission scheme". This scheme defines which project role/ group/ user gets which permission. You will find the scheme under "permissions" in your proejcts. The permission you are looking for is the browse projects permission. This role defines who can see the project and the content within. Take a look at the members of that permission.

Usually only project roles are used. Common examples: user, developer, ... If your scheme uses groups or individual users I recommend replacing them by roles because it will ease the configuration on the long term.

Now you need to add the users/groups to the correct role under people in your project.
