How do I update the value of a custom field in Jira Data Center using REST API ?

I have an app that was built with forge, now i want to migrate it to DC, but i encountered an obstacle, on Jira Cloud there is this API to update the custom field value directly using the following API Endpoint.

But i didn't find any such API to update the custom field, is there any way to do this or any API.

This should let you update a customfield value for an issue by key or id.
