I have searched through many of the articles in help and many "fixes" seem to only be available to administrations. My team is receiving far too many emails when using the tool and each would like to customize their notification settings so all can get only the relevant information. For example, I uploaded 25 documents to a task at once and each member of my team then received 25 emails. I cannot find a way to edit this, assistance on how to manage when we receive emails would be very helpful.

Notifications are set on a per project basis using the Notification Scheme in JIRA. You need to have administrator access of the project to change these settings. For the example that you sent, that is going to the 'Issue Updated' notification. You'll need to adjust that notification to suppress these to any groups/roles.
