Why ATLASSIAN keeps complicating things that work like charm in the old view?
The edit button is gone now and I have to always switch to old view to change my issue type.
Hello, I have the same question as Saket, fortunately, I can attach a snippet.
It's not that clear for a snip though, but without using the old view, you cannot edit the type (or at least neither of us can work out how), clicking on the type icon or link text (as you would you amend the description) just opens the ticket again.
p.s. Please ignore the (probably) badly worded story!
Thanks for posting the screenshot, Darren. Yes, I am facing the same issue. The only option is to select 'move' option and then change the issue type. I can't understand why someone would take the easy to use 'edit' button and replace it will such horrible thing.

@Petter Gonçalves I wondered if you'd got any feedback regarding this since I provided the screenshot?
It's a pain that we have to constantly switch back to the old view to see many of the fields (e.g. Resolution is also hidden on the new form)

Hello Saket,
Could you please provide us a screenshot of the screens in the Old and new View? Also, Are you using JIRA Cloud or JIRA Server?
In my instance, the edit button to change the issue type is working just fine in the new issue view:
Please, provide us with your JIRA version so we can better understand your problem.

Hi, the view you posted is the old view. I am using JIRA cloud. I get an option to switch to old view. In the new world, user should choose the option to move a story and then change the type .
Unfortunately, I can't post a photo here because of the govt. project strict guidelines. I am not allowed to post any screenshot whatsoever :)
