Is the Creator field now available to bring into Issue Views?

I created a custom field to show the creator in tickets and have been basing many automation rules off of it. I just noticed today that I can pull in the real Creator field into the issue view. Was this a recent change by Jira? I'm not seeing anything that shows this has been rolled out so I'm just trying to figure out when that happened.

I was intrigued and tried to add it, but in my case, it still cannot be added to views. This is on a free instance used for testing, in a company-managed JSM project:
