For an issue that is already in Review State, and someone changes the reviewer from the current assigned reviewer to someone else, is there a way to set up an event that triggers a notification to the new reviewer that they now have an active review task?

Hi @Peter Low

this is a common requirement and should be easily to be configured via a Notification Scheme.

To make it easier you could start looking with built-in "Notification Helper" if the user in question is intended to already receive this kind of notification.

In case the configuration needs to be adapted the "Notification Scheme" should be the first place to look at:

In case you have already one that is defined for your project you certainly do not need a new one but only to adjust the notification settings.

Cheers,
Daniel

Hi @Peter Low

They should already get an email notification as part of default notification settings when they're assigned an issue. You can also use Jira automation to do almost any combination of trigger and action based on criteria such as trigger a Slack/Teams/Twilio/Email notification when an issue in status 'review' is assigned to a new user.
