Can I create single kanban board for 2 different teams in single project ?

Prasanna4u January 28, 2020

Hello ,

I've created a project called "Test Project" & I am the owner of this project . My project has 2 different teams depending on their specialization . 1) Unix  2) Windows , is there any way I can create one single board accommodating these 2 teams with some sort of differentiation ? Thanks

You can easily create a Kanban board which shows all your issues in a single view.  You could then create Quick Filters on the board to show/hide the different teams' issues.

The real question is how are you going to differentiate between the two teams on a Jira issue?  You could create a new custom field with values of Unix/Windows, or my suggestion would be to use the Component/s field.  Create two Components called Unix and Windows.  The only limitation of using Components is that a user could possibly select both values.

It worked in the way I want , I have created two components & based on filter with component in swimlanes I can see two lanes as Unix & Windows . Thanks for that !!

Is it possible to add usernames in that filter as well ? or create a new group as unix group & windows group & filter it along with component ?

Yes you can filter by username, but not by user group I'm afraid.  But you could create a filter based on multiple usernames, e.g. "Assignee IN (user1, user2, user3)".

Or you could configure your Kanban board to have swimlanes based on Assignees.

Hello @Prasanna4u

Welcome to the community.

Yes you can create a board and separate issue by swimlane or quick filter.

Hope this helps
