How can I prevent jira update notifications for my own edits?

When I comment on issues I receive an update notification for it. That's not really necessary because I already know, so this is practically inbox pollution.

Is there a way to configure Jira so it only notifies me when someone other than myself edits or comments an issue?

Hoi @jagercode ,

If you look at your profile settings (can be opened via Avatar at the top right) you will see the option "My Changes" under Preferences.

When you set this on 
My Changes: Not Notify me.

Then you don't get notifications of your own actions.
