Hi Oriol,

Thanks for that information.  I can see on that other thread that you have tried to use both MySQL 8 and Postgres 12.  However neither of these database versions are supported by Jira server just yet.  Please see our Supported platforms.   For Jira 8.9, MySQL 5.7 is supported and for Postgres 9.6, 10, and 11 versions are also supported.

Once you have chosen a supported database type and version, then please try to follow the corresponding database setup steps over in Connecting Jira applications to a database.  Each database type you could use with Jira will have some slightly different configuration steps you need to follow to set it up correctly.

I hope that helps.

Andy

Hi @Andy Heinzer ,

Yes, it. helps!!

I said that would be nice to be compatible with MySQL 8x.

With Postgres 12 is compatible, if you want to test and add as a DBMS versions compatible (with the Jira en created by user).

Thanx.

Hi,

Sorry about having some posts end up in moderation.  I am afraid that sometimes our Community site incorrectly detects some posts as spam, and in turn it can take some time for us to identify these and put them back on the site.

In regards to the problem with being unable to create a project in Jira, I have seen this happen in new setups that use MySQL when that MySQL database has not be setup in exactly the method we recommend in Connecting Jira applications to MySQL 5.7.

It would help to take a closer look at the $JIRAHOME/log/atlassian-jira.log file from a time when you attempt to create such a project.  This should generate some details in the log that will make it clearer to understand the problem.  If it is the problem I think it is, then you might want to take a look at the KB Jira server throws unknown error when creating projects using MySQL.

If that does not help, then please share with us that log file and I'd be happy to take a closer look at it.

Cheers,

Andy

Hi @Andy Heinzer ,

No problem I understand that you prevent SPAM and others and some times make incorrectly detects.

Thanx for all what you tried to help me.

I've shown what you say me on saturday but It not helped me at all with MySQL 8.x version.

For I've you are interested I discovered that the error was in component tableLtable field and project table like there is a reserved name for a MySQL function. So for create those tables with field with LEAD as fieldname It should be with `LEAD`.

But It would be necessary to change on the diferent queries / CRUD on DAO.

For if It helps:

Really giving to you lot of thanx.

Maybe I'm wrong.

Oriol
