Where are described the conditions for Opening & Closing a Sprint

Fátima Ganzo September 6, 2021

Hi,

where are described/programmed/coded the tasks and conditions that mus be met when opening and closing a sprint in jira cloud ?

One of our team has notified us that when creating the new sprint, all tasks from the Backlog moved directly to the DONE Status (Bugs & Stories)

If any doubt or any additional clarification, just let me know.

Thanks in advance

Hi @Fátima Ganzo

The only conditions I am aware of for creating, starting, and completing sprints are:

  • sprints are enabled for the project (when using a team-managed project), and
  • the person trying the action has sprint management permissions

Regarding what your team member told you about:

...when creating the new sprint, all tasks from the Backlog moved directly to the DONE Status (Bugs & Stories)

There is nothing built-in that would do that.  If that is what was observed, then some form of automation or add-on app did so.

If you are unable to find the automation causing this, I recommend that you ask your site admin to submit a ticket to Atlassian support as they may see something in the logs which is not visible to customers: https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/

Kind regards,
Bill
