On the tutorial video: http://www.youtube.com/embed/KWiSkH9Tqbo?autoplay=1&rel=0&wmode=transparent there is a Done column.
In a normal sprint we have 3-5 stories and in sum there is 100+ subtasks. Most of the time nobody cares about Done issues, so we use a Quick filter to hide them, but this way the column is used only to make the done/fixed transition.
For example we have almost the same Rapid Board for wallboards, just without the Done column.
Is it planned to have a special area for Done targets? A small rectangle with Done label in the upper right corner should be enough. This way we won't need an always empty column. If this would be at least a Board owner setting then the current way can be still available to those that don't agree.
Would it help that it is possible to specify a 'Work' filter for the Rapid Board . This allows more issues to be included for Reporting than are shown in the Work mode.
One work around mentined in a comment on https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/GH/Using+a+Board is "in the rapid board column config, I moved Closed items into the "Unmapped Statuses" column, leaving Resolved items in the "Done" column. This way, when an issue is transitioned from Resolved to Closed, it vanishes from the board."
Thanks, accepted your answer because we also use this workaround. Unmapping the Done column and using hotkeys (. f enter == finish) we could use it.
However a small drag target box would be more user friendly for those who don't use hotkeys.
