Activity Stream dashboard gadget should use filters like other gadgets do

Gadgets (like the pie chart or filter results) seamlessly translate complex custom filters into usable views. The Activity Stream should do this too. The filter limitations that it imposes make this feature utterly useless. It either shows too much information or too little. I can either pull activity for thousands of tickets across an entire project or I have to define specific tickets, rather than a simple criteria that would pull in tickets that fit the criteria.

Additionally, if I filter by user, it will only show me actions that user has taken, rather than any activity on tickets relevant to that user.

Activity Stream needs to be equally functional to other gadgets. Can you please provide an option to use one's own pre-saved filter instead of limiting to just the narrow parameters you've set on the current version?
