I made a team in Jira to assign issues to. I purposely did not include myself in that team. I want to add another person to the team but now when I go to "browse teams" despite being an org admin I can only "request to join the team" and have no ability to add new users to it or even to delete the team. How can I fix this.
Welcome to the Community. Did you create via the steps mentioned in this KB article - https://support.atlassian.com/atlassian-account/docs/what-is-a-managed-team/ ? Is your team a "managed team"?
If not, how did you created the team? By default, as the org admin, you should be able to access the team via the Teams option from the top nav bar to access the team in question.
Try the following steps to see if it works for you -
1) Access Teams option from the top nav menu
2) Click on "Browse all teams" and search for the team in question
3) Click on the specific Team and then click on the "+" sign in the Members section to add users
