After reading numerous similar items I think I'll just ask again:
We have Cloud and I need persons w/Jira project permissions to 'set' the Parent Link in a Portfolio initiative.
I read this: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Portfolio-for-Jira-questions/What-permissions-required-for-setting-a-Parent-on-an-Epic/qaq-p/1219011 which provided some information and possible work arounds but it references server instance and therefore isn't an answer, then read this: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Portfolio-for-JIRA-Permissions-amp-Editing-Parent-Link/qaq-p/646838 which indicates there was a gap identified in 2017, that seems to not yet be addressed.
Our Jira project are have specific roles/groups who can do what and multiple projects, We're new to portfolio but at the end of the day, I want those who are allowed to make a change in Jira to make it ......... preferably if they are able to at least 'view' the Portfolio plan.
The server based documention indicates that what I'd like is possible just not in Cloud version.
Portfolio for Jira viewer | Can perform the following actions:
Note that this permission at both the program level and the plan level are independent of each other. This means that even if you can view the 'Mobile expansion' program, you still need this permission for a particular plan to view that plan in the 'Mobile expansion' program. |
So the question is: Is this ever going to be possible?
Please don't say next gen - unless it will allow cross project configuration with a more granual permission set than the 3 options today - soon.
Thanks
