I have a question about this statement in the announcement regarding the 10-Day reminder.

The migration to the new navigation will occur gradually over a period of 3‑7 days for all users.

I'm getting ready to turn on the New Navigation for all users tonight, I get that the new navigation will be automatically enabled for all sites, but the above bullet confuses me from a change management perspective.

If I turn on the new navigation tonight for all instances, what migration would be needed that would require the 3-7 days line item. I have read this like 10 times and it still doesn't make sense to me if I enable for everyone tonight.

Users need to have an option for the old or new navigation.  The new version is NOT helpful to our organization the way we use several boards and have set up workflow with our lists.  The new version is very inefficient and has features that are not helpful to us at all.  We don't need the Inbox or Planner.  We use the boards totally differently.  We have a premium subscription.  There should be an option for the user community.  This is disappointing.  We are not resistant to change....we are in IT.  The efficiency we had will be lost.  Who can help with this situation?  We would really like to talk with someone but can't.

Please provide a phone number to talk with a live person about the navigation changes.  The navigation we see from the Beta and what some of our users are experiencing are not how we use the Trello boards in our fast pace IT environment.  Extra clicks and views we don't need slow us down.  While developers may have 'good ideas', the use of Trello boards may be limited in their testing........training videos indicate very simple examples......that don't relate to high production and fast paced development work.  (Example:  a development board has lists and work flow that moves IT break/fix cards and documentation from Ready for Dev, to In Dev, to Passed In Local Host, to Dev Testing, to Test Testing, to UAT, to Pending Deployment, to Confirm resolution with user, to complete.  Therefore the changes with unnecessary items like inboxes and planners do not help us.  We need the ability to keep the navigation as we currently use.  There should be two choices:  old nav or your new idea.

Oh, it’s not just a redesign, it’s a forced march through a UX wasteland, courtesy of Atlassian. They've apparently decided that intuitive navigation is out of style, and now shove this grotesque navigation interface down everyone’s throat like it's some divine revelation.Forget usability, this reeks of arrogance, the kind where a handful of clueless decision-makers mistake internal hype for actual improvement. And naturally, there's no escape hatch. NO OPT-OUT.

Just blind obedience to their latest “vision,” as if the users paying customers, mind you should simply obey and adapt. It's the kind of move that makes you wonder if they're trying to sabotage their own product… or if they’ve just gone completely brain-dead in the product strategy department. Either way, calling it “horrible” is generous. This is UI tyranny in full display.

Hi, as an admin, I do have to speak out and say that the new navigation is so much more difficult to use than the old. It is so cluttered and messy.

Please bring the old navigation back, at least as an option. It's extremely frustrating moving from one area to another, for example from the Dashboards back to the project you were currently on.

And then the worst is having Project Settings and Delete Project are stacked next to each other. I almost accidently deleted the project yesterday.

Are there poeple who honestly like the new navigation?

As someone who has now been migrated to the 'new look' Can i ask what was wrong with teh old look. ?

The old look was in a larger font so easy to read

The search criteria was easy to use and intuitive.

the current look is Too small i imagine if you have poor eyesight then this is really going to impact you day to day usage.

its just not intuitive.

Can we have the option to return to the classic and not broken View ?

I am hoping the Trello team listens.  The changes are not helpful to users, and from the various comments, it seems the users share the same angst with the lack of efficiency and usability.

How does one update the new "Team" field via Automation? Or is it not addressable yet?

I must admit that person who decided about the layout and options show here, have a nerves from steel.

Dear Atlassian -

JSM Cloud - Putting "Archive" and "Delete" project in FIRST CHOICE menu next to PROJECT SETTINGS which is heavily used by tired Jira Admins, it is just another trap. Please change colors of text or remove these options from the first choice menu. This is a recipe for disaster.  We are archiving or deleting projects so rarely, that I don't mind looking for this option somewhere deeper....

I have been working with the new navigation for over a week now and its just the worst update in History.

I am still finding the font too small,  the side bar is so cluttered compared to the more slick top bar approach of before.

I am still unable to find many of the reports/projects i had access to before.

Its never been the most intuitive product but this has made things a step worse than before.

Also the instructions to toggle back to the old version given earlier in teh thread, do not work.

I am not a big fan of change for change sake (If the look is not broke why fix it ?)

I mark this update as a big time fail.

I know you wont change back as that would be an admission of failure but give us the option to toggle between classic an new set up, so i can actually use JIRA again.

Atlassian:  Are you listening.  Users are frustrated.  This new navigation and views are hurting efficiency and user experience.  Please let us know your plans to at least having a choice for the old navigation.

One video to which I have seen references the shopping list of the video's trainer on a Trello board.  Those personal examples are not helpful or fit in a fast-pace, multiple project and tasks in most business environments, especially an IT environment for managing requests.

Please let us know the plans.  Thank you.

The new navigation for Jira was automatically rolled out to my organisation on Friday. It is really not an upgrade.

My organisation does not really use Apps, scrum masters work inside projects (and do not often need to switch to other projects) and when I want to access filters and dashboards I was happy to access those from the top menu.

Now, the things that I use most often such as Backlog, Active sprint, Releases and so on, are moved to the top and not even to a permanent menu. When you want to access it when you are inside any work item, you need to first select a board and only then can you get access to these menus.

Other things like being able to see which sprint you are in and how many days remaining for the sprint area also now hidden.

This was not thought out properly - do you not do any UX design? Or was this designed by a moronic AI?

Not a fan!  Also with renaming of things (Apps, Products, Work Items, etc) at the same time makes this whole space feel unfamiliar.

I will ask again.  Is there someone at Atlassian to talk with?  Can Atlassian call a conference call with some of the users on this thread.  Please let us share what we need in a fast-paced; high-production environment.

This is giving me a headache. Users complaining and totally getting distracted from their trained workflows. We got Marketplace Apps now showing under "More" in the horizontal navigation, and everyone has to do extra clicks to get to their essential day to day tasks done. As if Jira admins didn't have enough on their plate already.

Whoever is the insane mastermind behind this, I bet that they were not asked to do this by any actual user or administrator. The navigation was not that bad that it required an complete overhaul.

Now... as we seem to not be able to return to the previous navigation, I am - beyond answering user questions and having to adapt training material all over the place - forced to also, on a per-project basis, click horizontal navigation tabs one by one into the best working order for our teams. I am just lucky (NOT!) that this is possible, and that I could foresee how our users standard monitor space looks like to know how many items I can realistically get seen directly without having to click on "More (15)" at the end (NOT!).

Welcome to Atlassian Admins from hell, HAR HAR!

We will put navigation items at different places in all our Jira projects. (...NOT!)

I will speed up now migrating our content off of Confluence, as planned already, plus starting an initiative to look for Jira alternatives that are not constantly changing wording, behaviour, and look. Atlassian, count the days. Don't put decision makers in a bad position.

Hi @Varsha Patel

In the new navigation bar, how can we set favorite apps like Zephyr?
