What’s happening?

Community Announcements, which is the home for announcements from Atlassian community managers and product teams will now be moving to become a group.

Why?

Announcements is currently in our Q&A section, which doesn’t make a whole lot of sense when you really think about it (or if you’re a brand-new user). We wanted to make our announcements easier for users to find and follow.

How does it make them easier to follow?

When you join the Community Announcements group, you’ll automatically be subscribed to announcements there.

Won’t that also mean I’ll get a whole lot of other notifications?

No - this group is only for articles, which will only be written by Atlassians in the announcements group. We won’t be hosting discussions there. So feel free to join with confidence!

Okay - I’m sold - how do I join?

Visit the group and click the “Join group” button. Easy!

What if I have feedback, questions, or problems?

As always, you can ping us in the comments or email communitymanagers@atlassian.com.

What’s happening next?

To make things easier to find and follow, we’ll be moving all content from this collection into the new group. Once everything has been successfully migrated, we’ll retire the old Announcement board to keep things simple and avoid any confusion.

Good decision, community announcements deserve their own group.

@SilkeS I agree with @Dave Mathijs - great idea. I did notice that a lot of historical posts were moved there and many have the FEATURED post tag on them. It may be a good idea to have that cleaned up a bit so visitors don't need to scroll past older content to get to the latest posts.
