What are badges?
On the Atlassian Community, we have two different badge types: Courses and Badges.
Courses are for the courses you’ve completed on Atlassian Learning.
Badges are for your achievements on the Atlassian Community Forums.
How can I get started?
As a member of the Atlassian Community, you’ll start earning badges as soon as you start participating in Forums or Learning.
When you create your Atlassian Community Forums account, you’re automatically enrolled in our community Kudos program. So, you can start earning Kudos badges immediately!

How do I keep earning badges?
For Forums kudos, you can see all the currently available challenges right here. Plus, join the Contests & Kudos group to stay updated as new challenges are announced. You can also post feedback, suggestions, and questions in that group.
If you click the Kudos dropdown in the navigation bar, you can see the Challenges column, where you can select To Do to see the challenges you’re yet to complete.
For Courses badges, keep completing courses and you’ll rack up your badge collection.
Forums series badge
We have a number of badge series for:
- Accepted solutions
- Answers posted
- Topics created
- Replies posted
- Articles written
- Likes received
The more of these activities you complete, the more badges you’ll get!
What is a Rising Star?
Once you’ve started making contributions on the forums, you can start making your way up our member levels! First, you’ll become a Contributor once you have received 5 likes on your content. You’ll unlock access to our private Contributors group, where you can participate in exclusive activities!
Then, you can work your way up to become a Rising Star. You’ll even earn up to three special badges once you reach Rising Star level!
