Hey everyone! Our amazing @LarryBrock has just hit Level 10 status! Let's celebrate by looking back at ten of his most impactful moments in the Atlassian Community.
Larry joined the Atlassian Community in 2014, initially organizing events under the name “AUGs” (Atlassian User Groups). Over time, he significantly expanded his involvement by organizing events across all Texas ACE chapters, actively answering questions, and contributing insightful articles to the Community Forums.
Larry’s stellar stats on Community forums include 269 answers, 58 accepted solutions, 27 articles, 969 likes, and 781 total posts! Wowza! Since joining the program, Larry has hosted over 170 Atlassian Community Events, inspiring and connecting users across the globe!
Larry, a lifelong champion of learning and growth, has achieved the Atlassian Certified Expert designation, which has now transitioned to an emeritus status.
Of course, Larry’s contributions don’t stop there. We’ve been fortunate enough to work with Larry on the Community Advisory Board, most recently during his return as an emeritus member.
Now, for some lovely words from Larry’s fellow Champions. “If you’ve spent any time in the Atlassian community, chances are you’ve felt the impact of Larry (whether you realized it or not). He’s one of those rare people who leads not for recognition but for the betterment of everyone around him. He consistently sets the precedent for what it means to be a true community leader: supportive, generous, and deeply committed.Over the many years in this community, Larry has gone above and beyond—not just for the community at large but for the individuals within it. He’s the kind of person who shows up, who listens, and who pushes others to become the best version of themselves. He’s played a huge role in encouraging others to step into leadership and has been a steady source of support, guidance, and friendship. Co-leading a community alongside Larry isn’t just a privilege, it’s a testament to the way he uplifts and empowers those around him. The Atlassian community is stronger, more connected, and more inspired because of him.
Thank you, Larry—for everything you do and everything you are. Your impact is immeasurable, and your kindness is unmatched." @Amanda Cortez
“I was fortunate enough to first meet Larry 8 years ago, as we joined a new company 2 weeks apart - and since that time, I've been lucky to have Larry as a constant in my life. What you see is what you get with Larry, he's kind, funny, warm, hella smart, and he always makes time for others. Larry is also a wealth of wisdom, you'll never see judgement, he makes time for everyone in that crazy schedule. My kids know Larry as "Uncle Larry" - we have no family in USA, but Larry has been a constant in their life since they were born, and their faces light up when they see him. Larry encouraged me to join him as an ACE leader, and I jumped at it because I enjoy spending time with Larry so much - all that to say, Larry, you're brilliant, everyone who gets to know you is so lucky, congratulations my friend on this wonderful achievement.” @Suze
“I have known Larry a long time and I can honestly say he is one of the few people in my life that has made a positive impact not only in my professional career but personal as well. He always has positive and constructive things to say and add to a conversation. He is what has kept me in the program all these years and when i start to taper off his enthusiasm brings me back.” @Brian Jones
Congratulations to Larry for 10 years of leading in the community. I have known Larry now for ~8 years and can confirm the rumors. He has been a wonderful friend, fantastic team mate, and excellent mentor and consult to me and many others. He is always willing to discuss, support, guide, learn, and counsel anyone with just about any problem. He is a fantastic example of Atlassian and community leaders therein. Thank you Larry for all that you do, and here is to many more years helping to lead the community. @Joseph Zinnecker
“I feel incredibly fortunate to have #foundlarry. I wouldn’t be an ACE leader without him, both literally and figuratively. Larry bleeds community through and through and has always been an inspiration. He sets the standard for quality community engagement, thoughtful discussions, impactful insights, and is just a good guy to grab a beer with. Cheers to our ‘Texas ACE Regional Director’ for this incredible milestone, it’s was a long time coming my friend.” @Luis Machado
