Big Updates to QC Status for Confluence Cloud

We’re excited to share some important updates about the QC Status for Confluence Cloud app. Our team has been working hard to improve functionality, streamline workflows, and adapt to platform changes. Here’s what’s new:

Migration to Forge

QC Status has now been fully migrated to Atlassian’s Forge platform. This means enhanced performance, stronger security, and better integration with the Confluence Cloud ecosystem.

New Features in Existing Macros

QC Count Status macro

  • You can now select a specific section of a page for the app to count the number of Status macros from.
Let’s say that you have an app and you’re currently testing the newly added features. For each one of these features, you have a dedicated test page with different test cases and their statuses. One of these pages is the QC Hub - Test ‘Team Collaboration Dashboard’, and within the page, you have 2 sections, “Functionality Test” and “UI Test”, and you want to see how many of the functionality test cases were successful. All you have to do is select the page, specify the “Functionality Test” section, configure the status by text and/or colour, and click “Save”.

  • QC Status Overview macro

    • Select multiple pages to display an overview of their Status macro statistics.
For better monitoring, you decided that you need a central page with all the statuses of the test cases in one table. To get this table, you will have to add the QC Status Overview macro on a page, enabling the selection of multiple pages by checking the “Select multiple pages” box and selecting the desired pages in the “Pages” field.

    • Select a specific section of a page to display the overview of its Status macro statistics.
Similar to the QC Count Status macro, if you want to get an overview of the statuses within a specific section of your page, just select it from the “Section” dropdown.

    • Choose how to display the overview: as a Table or as a Pie Chart.
Whether you choose to display an overview of multiple pages or just one, you can now present the data in table or pie chart form.

These updates offer you greater flexibility in how you analyze and present your status data.

Introducing: QC Status Manager

We’re especially excited to announce a brand-new tool: the QC Status Manager. With this feature, you can now make bulk changes to status items within your published pages. Specifically, you can:

  • Select a Status to replace across a page.

  • Select a Status to delete in one go.

In our example with the QC Hub app, the QC Status Manager would be a really useful tool if we wanted to perform a second round of testing for the Team Collaboration Dashboard feature. We would duplicate the page QC Hub - Test ‘Team Collaboration Dashboard’, open the QC Status Manager, and configure the changes by selecting a specific section (if desired), the “From” status, and configuring the one that will replace it.

Deprecation of Two Macros

Due to the recent platform changes, we’ve had to deprecate two macros:

  • QC Count Status of a Page Property Report macro

  • QC Status Overview Stats of a Page Property Report macro

We know many of you used these, but with Forge migration and the introduction of the new QC Status Manager, we’re confident you’ll have even stronger tools to manage your Confluence content.

We’d love to hear your feedback!

  • What do you think of the new QC Status Manager?

  • Are there other improvements you’d like to see?
