Hey, Atlassian Community!
Many of us know the routine all too well. It’s Monday morning, and one of the first things on your to-do list is to run the same set of reports you ran last week. Cycle time, sprint progress, bottleneck analysis or Time in Status reports. Then, share all of them with your team and/or stakeholders.
It’s a very important, but time-consuming task. It doesn’t have to be that way, though. We believe reporting should be insightful, not a burden.
That’s why we're excited to introduce a powerful new capability in Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira: Scheduled Reports.
Timepiece has always helped you generate detailed Time in Status reports and track key metrics like Cycle Time, Lead Time, Resolution Time, and more. But there was a catch: You had to run these reports manually each time. Now, with the new Scheduled Reports feature, that process is fully automated.
So, what exactly is the Scheduled Reports, and how can it simplify your workflow?
Put Your Reporting on Autopilot
The idea behind Scheduled Reports is simple: configure your reports once, and let Timepiece deliver them automatically.
Instead of manually pulling data every week, you can now schedule any of your Timepiece reports to run on a recurring basis; daily, weekly, or monthly.
Why Does This Matter for Your Team?
Automating your reports isn't just about saving clicks. It’s about creating a consistent, reliable flow of information.
Here is how it can help you:
Save Your Valuable Time: Free yourself from the manual grind of repetitive reporting so you can focus on analyzing the insights and taking action.
Ensure Consistency: Everyone gets the same report, with the same data, at the same time. This builds trust and keeps your entire organization aligned.
Keep Everyone Informed: Stakeholders and team members get the updates they need without you having to remember to send them.
How It Works
Getting started is straightforward. From the Timepiece main page, you can now access the Scheduled Reports feature.
When creating a new Scheduled Report, you can configure the report’s parameters, set its frequency, and choose the delivery methods.
Which Delivery Methods You Can Use?
With Scheduled Reports, your key metrics can land directly in your team’s inbox, a Slack channel, or a MS Teams chat, right on schedule, every time.
