Want to know which content is working, who’s engaging, and where your team is spending time in Confluence?
The latest updates in Viewtracker release for Confluence Data Center, bring useful improvements to the Content & Usage Report. These updates are designed to help teams dive deeper into content performance with more data fields and greater control over time tracking.
More Data Fields = More Answers
Whether you're managing documentation, internal knowledge, or collaboration spaces, these improvements help you answer key questions like:
Which pages are getting real engagement—not just clicks?
Who are the top contributors to a space or a project?
How much time is spent reading key documentation?
Where should we focus cleanup or improvement efforts?
You now have access to a broader set of metrics in both the Content Usage Report and the Space Usage Report. These include:
Attachment views
Average time spent (if time tracking is activated)
Comments and Likes (on both content and comments)
Views, Viewers, Engaged users
Edits, Contributors, Last editor
Page versions, Publishing date, Restrictions
Number of attachments
And more.
These fields are designed to give you a clearer picture of how Confluence content is being used across your organization.
Additionally, any data fields selected in the report preferences will appear in the CSV file when the report is exported.
Note: Some fields available in Cloud (e.g., Page Owner) are not available in Data Center due to platform differences.
Not all spaces need the same level of detail. You can now restrict time tracking to specific Confluence spaces, so:
You only collect time-on-page data where it matters
Reporting is more relevant and focused
You avoid noise from less critical content areas
This makes it easier to align analytics with business goals—whether you're supporting compliance, adoption, or optimization.
