Why the HR team needs Analytics in Confluence

As a member of the HR team, it is essential for you that employees find the information they need. This could be information on onboarding new employees or how to apply for vacation. Analytics are necessary to understand whether this information is being found, what information may still be missing and what content is resonating. Let’s look at how the different roles of the HR team can use Viewtracker to gain new insights.

Content creators in the HR team

Your Confluence site is a hub for important company news, HR updates, and essential documents. Are your colleagues actually reading and finding value in this content?

Viewtracker – Analytics for Confluence’s built-in page report lets you get helpful Confluence statistics data to determine what content employees find useful. These help you, for instance, to refine onboarding documentation for new hires or other content that you are currently working on. In this video, you will find out how to use Viewtracker in combination with Atlassian Intelligence to refine HR pages.

Viewtracker also has a search report that can be used, for example, to determine which terms are searched for but do not produce results. This feature can effectively be used to close knowledge gaps in Confluence. To learn more about the search report, check out the documentation on Cloud and Data Center.

In our demo video, Edmond from HR wants to know how his newly created HR space and its content perform. He can access this data with Viewtracker – Analytics for Confluence.

Space admins in the HR team

As a space admin, you want to manage these spaces more efficiently and get your team to create engaging content that brings value to your enterprise.

Thanks to Viewtracker – Analytics for Confluence’s built-in space and global reports, you can get all the data you need, such as page view statistics, usage statistics, and more, to create relevant policies. Depending on the privacy settings that you chose in Viewtracker, you can also find out if teams read HR compliance guides and announcements in Confluence.

Decision-makers in the HR team

You take on a leadership role in developing a positive culture at your enterprise. You consult the senior HR management on HR operations, but need data to support your ongoing plans.

Viewtracker – Analytics for Confluence’s built-in global report allows you to monitor all tracked data in your department’s Confluence instance at one glance. This allows you to easily report to stakeholders on the effectiveness of company-wide HR policies and compliance standards. The Confluence analytics data also gives you insights into implementing high-level strategies and improvements. Exporting reports and using the data in other tools, such as Excel, is also possible.

HI @Elena_Communardo Products - Nice features that helps to track adoption and usage of confluence pages. Curious, how will you measure adoption if users search in Rovo and see a summarized result and the user no longer need to visit the page?

Hi @Prabhu Palanisamy _Onward_ Great question – thanks for bringing that up! 👏

While Rovo helps users access information faster through summaries, Viewtracker serves a different purpose: it provides in-depth analytics to understand how content is used, what’s missing, and how internal communication can be improved.

Even if users rely on Rovo to get quick answers, organizations still need visibility into content performance, search gaps, and policy adoption. That’s where Viewtracker remains essential.

So, Rovo can improve content discovery, but Viewtracker enables data-driven decisions about content strategy and engagement. Both can coexist, serving different needs.

Hope this helps explain the distinction. And thank you again for raising such a thoughtful question 🙌
