Confluence tables can be a great tool if you work with data in Confluence. But to get the most out of them, you might need to know some tricks. That is why we decided to start a series of posts to share tips that can make your work easier and more enjoyable.
We decided to begin with something simple and show how to upload a .xls file as a spreadsheet using the Table Spreadsheet macro from the Table Filter and Charts for Confluence app.
First, you need to embed a spreadsheet onto your Confluence page. You can do that in the edit mode by typing /Table Spreadsheet or in the view mode by clicking the funnel icon on the top of your Confluence page and inserting the spreadsheet.
Next, click the File button in the top left corner of the spreadsheet. Select the Import option and pick the .xls or .xlsx file you want to add. The data from your file will be uploaded to the spreadsheet as it was in Excel or Google Sheets.
Now you can keep working in Confluence using the previously gathered data!
