Workflow Building Blocks for Jira Is Becoming a Paid App (Beginning August 2025)

Dear Workflow Building Blocks users,

We’re writing to inform you about an update to our pricing plan, which will take effect at the beginning of August 2025.

We’re incredibly grateful to all the teams who have adopted and supported the app since its launch. We know pricing changes can be challenging, and we want to be transparent about why this transition is happening and what it means for you.

Why Workflow Building Blocks Is Becoming a Paid App

Since its release in March 2024, Workflow Building Blocks has aimed to make Jira workflow conditions and validators more accessible by combining a simple UI with the power of Jira expressions. We’ve seen it become an essential tool for many teams, and we remain committed to its continued development and support.

Moving to a paid model allows us to maintain the app responsibly over the long term. It ensures we can focus on building more advanced features—like a powerful set of post functions with execution preconditions—and continue improving the conditions and validators already available. It also means we can offer better support to the teams who rely on the app in their day-to-day work.

What Does This Mean for You?

  • When the paid model goes into effect at the beginning of August, a new version of the app will become available.
  • The app will continue to be free for small teams (up to 10 users), and a 30-day free trial will be available for all other tiers.
  • Pricing will follow Atlassian’s standard model, and you can already review the pricing plan here.

We sincerely appreciate your understanding and continued support. Thank you for being part of the journey. Your feedback and trust continue to shape what we build next.

Best Regards

The Workflow Building Blocks Team
