Big news for draw.io users and lovers! The draw.io Zero Egress app is here! It’s basically next level security for draw.io.
What does this mean? 👇
RoA strengthens user data security by blocking services by default, ensuring no data is analyzed, stored, or leaves Atlassian’s servers.
No egress
No cross-domain traffic
Essentially, it’s like having a firewall around your diagrams 😉. If you trust Atlassian, you can trust that data stays secure with draw.io.
While RoA doesn’t yet include real-time collaboration or Smart Templates, we’ve replaced some features with zero-egress alternatives and removed others without a secure equivalent. You can still collaborate on diagrams just like DC users.
If security if your top priority, this version of draw.io was made for you. If you have any questions on it, I’m happy to answer them all. In the meantime, check it out in the marketplace here.
Best,
MJ & the draw.io team
Hi @kc ,
Thanks for your thoughtful questions and for your interest in our new zero egress app :). We're currently working on a side-by-side comparison that will be available soon on our website, but in the meantime, I hope the following helps clarify things:
The new app is completely built on forge. Zero egress is automatically enabled in this version and there’s no need to configure anything.
With the standard draw.io app, you’ll need to upgrade to the Advanced version to enable zero egress. Once upgraded, you can toggle zero egress on or off, depending on your team’s needs. You can reach out to our support team for instructions on activating zero egress.
There is no migration path between the regular app and the zero egress app at this time, so this new app is ideal for customers starting fresh with a new Confluence Cloud site. Therefore, if you’re already using the existing app, I recommend staying on it and leveraging the Advanced version if zero egress is a requirement.
For your impact assessment, here are a few things to consider:
Let me know if you’d like to discuss any of this further. I’m happy to help! ;)
Nice work — privacy-first never looked so good!
