In EazyBI, how to link 2 cubes

Samuel Srungarapati March 4, 2025

Greetings,

I have a unique issue.

I have 2 source datas, one from CSV, other from the Jira app.

Data from CSV does not contain IssueKey. Summary is the primary key to identify the issue.

Data from Jira contains all the required primary fields.

Now, it should be possible to integrate these 2 cubes in such as way that, based on the summary from CSV cube, the corresponding issue should be tracked from the other cube, and its issue number should be populated against summary present in the CSV cube.

Any quick help is appreciated!

Hi,

eazyBI can map different data sources together if records have a common ID. If your existing Jira data source is the eazyBI standard data cube for Jira Issues, the Jira key is the ID. It will not be possible to map another data source that does not provide the same ID (issue key).

A workaround could be possible if you create a custom data cube from Jira data where summary will be the ID (e.g., creating a REST API data source with custom mapping). Then you can map additional data to the Issue using the issue summary.

Kindly,

Janis, eazyBI support

Hi Samuel,

I don't have a direct solution as I tried to do this a couple of years ago. I was importing data from CSV into an eazyBI cube, but had the same mismatch.

In the end, I used the external issue import function to bring the data directly into JIRA, so it flowed into eazyBI and I could then develop reports using the external and JIRA data.

I will track this question to see if there is now a solution for your case.

Cheers
