I'm using Jira Structure and am having a problem showing accurate start and end dates in the gantt chart for linked items.  I have tried every configuration setting and jira field that I can find and it's still not working.  Here's the scenario.

Task x had to be done before task y, and it was completed in an earlier sprint.  Items x and y are linked where y depends on x and y is being worked in the current sprint.  The Structure gantt chart is using the sprint start and end dates from item x for both items x and y.  It's as if I have no control over displaying the correct start and end dates for item y.  Is this a known bug?  Is there any way around this?

Thank you,

Steve

Hello @Steve DiPersio

It's hard to advise anything specific without seeing screenshots, and understanding both your setup, and your Gantt chart's configuration. In general, it is indeed possible to schedule issues by their Sprint dates, and if an issue has more than one Sprint assigned to it, you can use the Formula functionality for defining which Sprint's dates should be considered on the chart.

If both tasks have one and the same Sprint, then it's possible that the Sprint's actual dates on the board are being ignored, and the automatically calculated dates are being used instead. This functionality exists on the Data Center version of the app.

If you're on Jira Cloud or Jira Data Center, please reach out to us directly at our support portal, and we'll have a closer look at your chart.

Best regards,
