How to integrate intelliJ with scriptrunner for jira data center?

I am having some issue regarding scriptrunner integration with intelliJ. Is the procedure given on adaptivist website still valid?

Also, I am new to jira so how can I learn about the jira API in order to do automation work with scriptrunner.
