Does Script Runner Behaviors support modifying the text height of a text area system field?

Hi,

I am trying to modify the description and environment field. Both of them are system fields and both are large text areas. Am I able to use behaviors to reduce the size of those? I am mostly concerned when someone uses the create screen, but it would also be great on edit screen as well. Someone can always use the "expand" feature on those text areas to make it bigger if need be.

Note: I know these can normally be done with custom fields and some javascript magic, but not on system fields.

Note: I don't want to use the banner for any hacks.

Note: I am okay with using Script Fragments, but it is a little bit out of my expertise.

Hi Dorian.

In all honesty, I don't think this is possible. You might be able to use fragments to alter the css, but it might misbehave. You seem to be aware that this can be done with css altering javascript. 

In my experience though, these changes are hard to maintain. 

If I may, why do you want to do this?

I agree it is hard to maintain and thus why I didn't go the JavaScript route.

The main reason is if you use the description field and the environment field (system field) on the same create screen / tab. It will consume the entire view.
