Rollup Structure Gantt Dates (Structure.Gantt)

We have built a Jira structure and gantt that contains parent and child items - the child items have planned start and end dates and I can't see any way for the parent items to inherit the min/max dates of child items and update automatically.

I have the 'treat parent issues as groups' enabled but it doesn't seem to be working.

Look forward to some help!

Thanks

Hi @Jaipal Singh With "Treat parent issues as groups" checkbox enabled in Structure Gantt's settings parent tasks behave as "folders" or "buckets" for their children on the chart. Which means parents start and finish dates would depend on the children position underneath. But these flexible parents start / end dates on the chart are internal structure attributes, meaning that this information is stored directly in Structure and it doesn't affect any Jira fields at the moment. You can actually see these dates in Structure by adding "Gantt start date" / "Gantt finish date" columns. If needed, you can copy these Gantt dates to Jira fields using "Effectors" feature.

Hi @Jaipal Singh , Welcome to the Community!

Are you using Jira Standard or Premium? My experience is that parents in the standard plan don't auto-inherit when child dates are entered or changed, but that is available in the Premium plan. If anyone knows differently for the Standard plan, I'd love to know how to set that up.
