Scriptrunner permissions

Hi community,

We are planning to start using the ScriptRunner add-on for Jira Server 8.6, but we have some questions about permissions to run/use scripts.

I have found this in the ScriptRunner docs, but the description about what functions is to vague:
"ScriptRunner for Jira Server is managed by a Jira administrator; however, many users can use its functions. You may not even know you are using a ScriptRunner function, or working through a script condition in a workflow, because of how seamlessly it integrates." (ScriptRunner 6.6.0: Who has access)

This post (Community: Permissions for scriptrunner ) is on the subject, but not quite clear enough.

Out-of-the-box, which types of functions are a regular user (jira-software permission) able to use and which functions require admin-permission?
E.g. built-in scripts, built-in scripted fields, etc.

Hi Jakob,

Out of the box a user must have Jira Admin permissions to create or run any ScriptRunner scripts. 

Script Edit Permissions for ScriptRunner gives Jira system administrators the ability to restrict which administrators can edit scripts, based on groups. Users with Jira system administrators or Jira administrators global permissions have script editing permissions by default. This feature allows script editing permissions to be restricted to a smaller group of administrators.

Just to make sure I got it right:

If an admin sets up for example a Database picker Scripted field, getting values from a excel sheet, and adds it to the create issue screen, would a Jira-software user not be able to choose among those values?
