Writing a behavior that creates a parent link to issue created

I need help writing a behavior script using the Scriptrunner. 

We have a custom field called Client Project Category and it is a single issue picker. I want to set a behavior that when that field is populated the Client Project Category issue should also be set as the parent of the issue being created. 

Example: I am creating a new Task (ABC-1) and in that task I set the Client Project Category field as (XYZ-2). When ABC-1 is created I also want XYZ-2 to be set as the Parent Of ABC-1.

@Kristin Rains maybe a listener then? you can filter that listener as much as you want.

Hi @Kristin Rains why don't you do this in a postfunction?

@Alejandro Suárez García That is definitely an option, but it would need to be added to multiple workflows. I was just trying to find a way to have something that would work across all projects/workflows without adding to each individual one.

@Alejandro Suárez García thanks for the suggestion! To be honest my biggest struggle is I don't know how to write code so I don't know how to start writing a script for this situation. I've found the scriptrunner documentation to be more confusing than helpful. I need something to tell me where to start and what needs to be included in the script.
