We are new to Atlas, and we would like to get that status of the project in Jira roadmap,

I’m an Atlas user too! Could you share a bit more about your use case with using Jira Roadmaps in Atlas?

In my experience, there’s a feature that allows you to sync Jira Epics with Atlas projects. When this is set up, you can see the weekly updates directly on the right side of the Jira Epic. One of the great things about this sync is that the timelines from the Jira Epic automatically sync with Atlas, and vice versa.

In Atlas, you can also see where the work is tracked by checking the “Where is the work tracked?” section, which links directly to the Jira Epic.

Personally, I use Jira Roadmaps to track all our team’s projects and Atlas to keep our stakeholders and team members updated on progress. It’s a seamless way to manage both project tracking and communication.

That is exactly how we want to use: 
Roadmaps to track all our team’s projects 
Atlas to keep our stakeholders and team members updated on progress.

Our "Caveat" is that our Projects goes through specific stages - which we capture in a singular Kanban. 
So, when you use the "Timeline view", we can have the stages in a column, but you can't have the "overall project status" from Atlas in a column. (only in the kanban board)
