Previously, when projects were under Atlas, you were able to post updates directly from Slack (using `/atlas update` command in Slack) - https://community.atlassian.com/forums/Atlas-Group-articles/%EF%B8%8F-Write-updates-from-where-you-work/ba-p/2580945

This feature seems to have been removed from the Slack app since Atlas was moved to Platform experiences. Now you can only post updates from Teams - https://support.atlassian.com/platform-experiences/docs/post-updates-from-microsoft-teams/

This feature was extremely useful to us and reduced friction for introducing Projects to others, especially for sharing updates, since you had direct integration within Slack.

Is there a plan to add support for posting updates from Slack?

Hey,

This feature should be still available in Slack. The slash command was renamed from `/atlas` to `/atlassian`. You should be able to start the posting update flow with `/atlassian update` in DMs with the app.

I did try this in the Atlassian app, however it didn't seem to pull the connected projects in the dropdown. After I selected our Atlassian namespace, it doesn't show the connected projects. Before I ran this command, I did check with `/atlassian list` that the projects were connected correctly.

Oh, I see. I guess the logic is to only receive those projects/goals that you own, where you are an owner.

If that's the case, maybe this can be revised to allow receiving all projects/goals where you are a contributor.

`/atlassian list` shows a message with connected resources to a channel. Same can be checked in the Connections modal (`/atlassian connect` > the Manage connection button).

Yes, being able to submit updates where you are a contributor would be great.

Should I submit this as a feature request somewhere?

Hey all! I was following along here, and figured it might be helpful to submit this through our feature request page. Here's a link to that feature request ticket: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/ATLAS-250

Let me know if I missed anything!

We've had no issues linking Slack to projects and goals

The issue isn't with linking Slack to projects and goals. It's about posting updates to projects/goals from within Slack, which currently only works if you're the project owner as mentioned in the other comment on this ticket. If you're a contributor, it doesn't allow you to post updates from Slack.
