AI Work Item Creation in the Jira Backlog from Confluence & Loom Links!

We’re excited to announce a major upgrade to how you capture and plan work in Jira: AI-powered work item creation directly from Confluence pages and Loom videos—right from your backlog!

What’s New?

Now, you can paste a link to a Confluence page or Loom video into the backlog’s inline create, and let Atlassian Intelligence do the heavy lifting. AI will analyze the content, extract key details, and suggest one or more Jira work items complete with summaries and descriptions. No more manual copy-pasting or context switching!

How Does It Work?

1. In your Jira backlog, hover over + Create issue inline.
2. Select the work items icon which appears in the right corner.
3. Choose your Confluence or Loom video and let AI do the rest
4. Review, edit, and accept the suggestions to instantly add them to your backlog.

Hi, I saw this and it's great.

Just curious why its only in Backlog as we have teams that are Kanban without a backlog
