Access AI features, agents, and chat via the Rovo button in Confluence - now generally available!

Hi all! I’m a product manager focused on Confluence’s AI features, and am excited to announce the general availability of the Rovo button in Confluence.

The button will serve as the new centralized front door for AI features, agents, and Rovo Chat, and is now generally available across Confluence Pages, Live Docs, and Whiteboards! The button appears in the bottom right corner across these content types, and when clicked, opens a panel where users can access all of Confluence’s AI capabilities.

Note: In order to access the Rovo button, you’ll need to have Rovo enabled and AI activated for Confluence.

Benefits to your workflow

  • Find all AI features in one place: Leverage the Rovo button to access AI actions related to the task at hand, including summarization, writing assistance, agents, and Rovo Chat.

  • View outputs in context: The Rovo button features a dedicated right-side panel, allowing you to view AI outputs side-by-side with the relevant page content.

  • See the right features at the right time: The panel menu surfaces the most relevant actions depending on where you are in your workflow, and the button will proactively nudge certain actions when they’re especially useful.

We’d love your feedback, so please feel free to schedule time with us directly here, drop a comment below, or click “Give feedback” within the Help section of the button’s panel. Stay tuned for more updates, including access to automation rules from the Rovo button (coming soon)!

All of these Rovo and AI features are cool and all, but we have some conditions that prevents us from enabling AI on JSM and Confluence all at once.

Are there any plans to give us admins more granular control over what the AI functions can access?
I know it respects the individual users permissions, but even so we need to be able to actively restrict AI access to certain Projects and Spaces.

We are on premium licenses, and we really want to use the AI features, but because of the lacking admin controls we can't.
