Target line on x-axis using Date

Broussard_ Anna June 5, 2025

I have a dateset that I've query in weeks:

and I'm trying to add an x-axis target line for this week but it's not recognizing the iso weeks relative date (today is 6/5/2025)

From the documentation (Add a target line to your chart | Atlassian Analytics | Atlassian Support), I think this should work but it doesn't seem to recognize this relative 'date' format. I also tried {TODAY}, which also puts the target line at the beginning of the chart. In fact, even a hard 'date' like 2025-06-05 does not work. If my chart was in day format instead of iso week, then a hard date does work. How do I specify a time target line for weeks?

Hi @Broussard_ Anna !

Right now, dynamic annotations are not available in charts (ANALYTICS-60). I suggest voting for and watching that feature request to get updates on it in the future.

That said, I took a closer look at the behavior you reported when hard-coding dates and believe we found a bug in how date annotations are rendered on the x-axis (ANALYTICS-466).

Basically, if the date used in the annotation doesn't match the start of the week (in your example), the annotation will be pinned to the left side of the chart. If you were to add an annotation like 2025-06-16 (the start of one of the weeks shown) it should display as expected in that group.

Hope this helps!

Thanks @Robert , adding an annotation to the start of the week still doesn't work. I will change my chart to daily instead of weekly for now until the issue is resolved.
