Ho, ho, ho, and happy holidays! ‘Tis the season for sweet potato pie and intentionally-ugly sweaters. And ‘tis also the season to look back on the year and celebrate everything you’ve accomplished—personally and professionally.
Did you convince your boss that it was time to get on the Cloud migration train? Did you shepherd a valuable release through from idea to customer-facing launch? Did you rack up other personal and professional wins worth celebrating? Heck, even if your personal win was showing up every day despite a world in more chaos than usual, we say pat yourself on the back, turn on your favorite holiday tunes, and have a homemade cookie straight from the oven. You made it.
We over here at Atlassian are celebrating with you—both your personal wins and the big wins we’ve made overall for migration this year. We’ve got new compliance features, a robust roadmap, resources for every stage of your migration journey, and tools that make the tech side of migration simpler than ever.
So, if you’re still in the midst of planning or executing your migration, here are some of the biggest, most impactful releases, updates, and resources we added to the Atlassian universe this year.
We hope they bring you many a win in 2022!
The first rule of migration is: talk about migration! (See what we did there?) The more you know, the better you can plan and execute a Cloud migration. Which is why this year we launched two live and on-demand webinars: The Power of Cloud and Cloud Migrations. They’ll help you assess Atlassian Cloud, understand your migration options, and ask any lingering questions on your mind.
The Grinch’s heart grew three sizes this time of year and data residency at Atlassian has done the same. Data residency is now available for all Cloud customers. You asked; we delivered.
Need to compare Cloud to Data Center, calculate your potential Cloud savings, or assess your readiness for migration? The new Migration Center has you covered.
We’ve got resources to help you make a business case with your boss, make a checklist for your migration, or ask for help with a sticky migration question.
Automated app migration has arrived, with more popular apps joining the fold every month. We also launched the Bitbucket Cloud Migration Assistant, Jira Service Management migration support (through the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant), and a cloud-to-cloud migration feature for all Jira sites.
These improvements come on the heels of six early access programs where we collected data from customers and partners, improving each tool as we learned. Our final beta program—for Advanced Roadmap migration support—is scheduled to launch by the end of the year.
Want to know what’s coming next? Our roadmap is constantly being updated with the latest improvements on our list. We will have HIPAA compliance for Jira Software Cloud and Confluence Cloud, as well as mobile application management (MAM) to enforce native security controls on mobile app usage…and that’s just the beginning.
Commercial and academic customers with 50+ users or agents can now schedule a free cloud consult with our experts. Chat cloud features, pricing, migration strategy, and more in real-time with real people.
This year, customers like Splunk, CHG Healthcare, Willowtree, SickKids Foundation, and de Volksbank shared about their journeys to Cloud. Whether you’re looking for tips or inspiration, they’re here to help.
Did we mention that we published a lot of research this year on customers who’ve already made the switch from Server to Cloud?
We’ve broken down the benefits by industry and size, discovered that 100% of financial services companies surveyed realized the benefits of Cloud within a mere six months of migration, and dug into what CTOs had to say about their migrations.
That’s not to mention the hefty report from Forrester that calculates the total economic impact of Cloud. (Spoiler: they estimated a whopping 155% ROI from Cloud migration.)
If you’re still on the fence about your own migration, time to dig into the research (or hand it over to your skeptical boss).
If you'd like to follow our journey on how Atlassian is ensuring our customers' needs are met in Cloud, continue to check out our updates from Partha, Head of Enterprise product at Atlassian.
We’re excited to see everything you and your teams will accomplish in 2022, and we’re planning on kicking next year off with a bang. Check back in the Community Migrations collection at the beginning of January next year to help us celebrate "Migrations Month"—that’s when we'll share tons of new resources and have events throughout the month with some special guests.
See you then!
