Our customer wants to receive notification emails from Jira only to one sepcific email address (which is not a user in the project).

Is this possible?

Hi @Daniela Awiszus

Can you elaborate a little bit please?

Which notifications do they want to get exactly? Is it about a specific notification when something happens on a work item? Or do they want to receive ALL notifications to that email address?

Depending on the exact use-case there are probably different ways to solve this.

  • Automation rule: send email
Send an email via an automation rule. Emails can be sent to an email address even if there is no user for that email address in Jira.
  • Notification scheme: you can add a user to the different events in a notification scheme.
For this you must have a user with this email. So you could create a user just for this.
But I think the automation rule option makes more sense.
