Managed teams update: Org admins can now rename Managed Teams in team profile page

Hey everyone,

Earlier in the year, we released Managed Teams. These are teams that have been connected to a group, which becomes the source of truth for membership in that team. You can connect either an externally managed group or a local Atlassian group.

Thank you to those that participated in the EAP and helped us release this 🙌

We've heard your feedback in needing the ability to rename your managed teams. 

- Next week onwards, you can rename your managed teams by going directly to the team profile (as of posting this, we've rolled out to 5% so you may be able to see it already).

- By end of July/August, you should be able to rename your managed teams in Atlassian Administration itself i.e. when you're creating the managed team. 

How to rename your managed teams

Renaming your Managed Team is the same as renaming any other team.

1. Visit the team profile of your Managed Team.

2. To rename the team:

   a) Click into team name and rename the team inline.
   b) Click into the ‘team settings’ dialog and rename the team in the ‘team name’ field.

3. In Atlassian Administration, you will see that your team has been renamed successfully.

Thanks for the comment! Today, only org admins can change the managed team name, same as how only an org admin can create a managed team today. 

Let me know if this is what you expected.

@Justin Millette you can try using this public API here to rename the team.

FYI, this functionality behaves the same as renaming a normal team today.

- Anything pointing the team ID such as JQL queries shouldn't break.

- If for any reason, you have any custom workflows that rely on the team name itself, renaming the team may break this (this happens today already). 

If you do have any custom workflows that rely on the team name or if you find any bugs, please let me know!
