Anyone know how to create consistent deployments with Bamboo & Artifactory?

One of the major tenants of CD as I understand it is that deployments should be consistent and same in all environments.

I'm not sure how to implement this using an artifact repository such as Artifactory.

My confusion is that deployments themselves are built around the bamboo artifacts system.  So currently I have a mixed model of deploying bamboo artifacts to environments up to stage & prod.  Then I push to Artifactory and deploy from there.  

 

I really don't like this approach and wonder how others are doing this.
