Can Bamboo access ant properties?

I know how to pass bamboo variables into my ant script as command line arguments but if my ant script has a build.properties file with a version=bob key value.. can I make that available to bamboo.

Specifically, I want to read the ${version} property from build.properties and use that in Bamboos svn tag task

EDIT: Take a look at the Inject Bamboo variables from file Task in Atlassian Labs.

There is currently no way todo this in Bamboo but I have opened a feature request to track this.
