Can new Bamboo Server (not Cloud) authenticate against existing Cloud Crowd?

Given that we will be migrating from Bamboo Cloud to a new Bamboo Server, and that we currently run Jira and Confluence Cloud, can we authenticate our new Bamboo Server, against our existing Cloud (Crowd)?

i.e. Configure new Bamboo Server auth to use http://ourdomain.atlassian.net/crowd

This link tends to suggest that it is NOT possible, but I thought I would double check...

This is not possible. Bamboo Cloud offers an "Export to server" option which copies all user data (except passwords) from Crowd into the local database, so you should be covered when it comes to existing user base.

Here's another link suggesting that it's not possible. If this is the case, there's def an opportunity for Atlassian documentation to make this clear???
