Checking out custom refs from git with bamboo

Is it possible to checkout refs outside of the ref/heads namespace using bamboo. Documentation seems to imply that it would not be possible, but perhaps someone was able to do so.

How about specifing the ref directly in the 'branch' field (in the Git Repository configuration):

refs/custom/myRef

?

[vmpn]

Figure out why it did not work originally. The ACL on the git server were hiding the refs from the bamboo.
