Cloning speed ssh compared with http

Hi,

What's your experience with bandwidth when comparing cloning over http with ssh?

At my current customer I notice that ssh is significany slower.

Cloning a specific repo over http is done in 6 minutes whereas the same action over ssh take approx 45 minutes.

Please share your experience and your workarounds / solutions
