Do build plans run on the same agent if that agent is available?

We are in the midst of finding ways to dramatically improve our build times.  Choosing agents that have previously built the same build/branch plan is key to the effort.  There has been questions on whether or not the concept of affinity is built into Bamboo server, but the evidence isn't strong one way or the other.  In other words, sometimes it appears to prefer building the same branch plan on the same agent, but other times it appears random even when the previously "preferred" agent is available.  Are there other elements in play that we are not considering?

Currently Bamboo does not support agent affinity. When an agent is free it picks up the first job from the queue that it is capable of building. The only way to affect which jobs are built by which agents is through capabilities and agent assignments.

Building better queuing  algorithms, including affinity and prioritisation is something we have in mind, but there are no concrete plans of implementing that feature in near future.
